You might find a few school district officials or local celebrities flipping hotcakes and serving up sausages at the ninth annual Pancake Day this weekend.

Pancake Day will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Worthington Kilbourne High School, 1499 Hard Road.

Last year, Superintendent Melissa Conrath flipped more than a few pancakes and judged a pancake-eating contest.

Organizers Ron and Cindi Erb and Chip and Karen Hanks said 100 percent of proceeds generated go directly to the two Worthington high school athletic programs to fund capital projects, as well as fund individual sports operating budgets.

Erb said last year's event had "wonderful support from the community, businesses and professionals and we want to continue the increase in participation for the 2010 year."
