To the Editor:

Thank you for the article on Kathy Moore (Worthington News, June 25). It is wonderful to celebrate such an amazing educator. I don't think, however, you did her justice. It wasn't that you didn't celebrate her extraordinary contribution to the children of the schools she served. It was that it is almost impossible to encompass in one article what she has given the children and parents of the schools that she touched.

I have known Kathy for 13 years. In that time, she has helped me navigate difficult issues with my children. If it were only my children she helped, I would be extraordinarily grateful, but I know how much more she's done. Kathy's knowledge and compassion have helped innumerable families in ways that we can probably never measure. We are very fortunate to have had her for 29 years. I hope she knows how much she has done and what she has meant to us.

I thank Kathy for being the amazing person she is.
