Letter: Teacher pay didn't cause our economic woes

To the Editor:
Dick Graham (Worthington News, Sept. 10) is suggesting that teachers and other
government workers "forgo annual pay raises" and categorized government workers
as "hardcore liberals."
It was not the "hardcore liberals" who submerged our nation into a huge deficit;
it was President Bush's conservative policies.
Teachers already spend a great deal of their income on classroom expenses,
tuition, licenses, background checks and a lot of gas to watch their students
participate in extracurricular events. These "hardcore liberals" should not have
to pay for the deficit created by the "true conservatives."
Suggesting that teachers limit their pay is an insult to a sacred profession.
